Before we even got the camera out,
Addie was completely enthralled with the flowers and butterflies nearby. Her session became one of observing, capturing, and reminding myself that so much of the beauty around us is found in the little things we walk past every day.
As we worked our way through the session, Addie continued to follow the beauty around her, and I continued to capture her as she did. A little ground squirrel running across the flower beds, birds resting in the grass, butterflies moving from flower to flower, and fish swimming in the pond. Every time I tried to capture her watching one of them, Addie was so concerned I might scare it away. She cared so deeply about each little creature.
One of my favorite moments was when Addie found monarchs near the end of the session. Her family used to have monarchs in their backyard when she was younger, and getting to watch her reminisce about those memories and soak in that moment with them again was nothing short of amazing.
Most sessions, I guide my seniors through. During Addie’s session, she guided me. And it truly was a session to remember.
