Last week I got to celebrate Jordan's graduation from UMKC

here in Kansas City and I think I smiled the entire time! Jordan is one of those people who is so easy to talk to. She is sweet, driven, and effortlessly gorgeous in every frame. We spent her session walking around campus, chasing golden light, popping her foot for every other photo, and talking about everything from running to what comes next after graduation.

Her list of "what comes next" just blows me away.

Jordan is originally from Alaska (which I'm still not over because HOW COOL?!), came to Kansas City for her time here at UMKC, and this summer she will be heading to Georgia and beginning her MBA as well as studying for the MCAT before she heads off to med school (which she is hoping to complete in Washington). No big deal or anything.

One of my favorite parts of senior and college graduation sessions is the opportunity to see a glimpse of who my seniors are beyond their photos. Jordan and I talked about her time in college, her future goals, and our shared love of running — including (but definitely not limited to) her dream to run a marathon someday.

Sessions like this always remind me why I love what I do. These photos are gorgeous, but more importantly, they freeze a huge milestone. Excitement. Uncertainty. Pride. Beginning something new.

Jordan, it was such an honor to capture this incredible milestone for you. I know you are going to do incredible things.

If you’re looking for UMKC graduation photos or a Kansas City senior photographer to capture this season of life, I’d love to help celebrate your milestone too. In the meantime, check out some favorites from her grad session below:
