“It’s a slow process, but quitting won’t speed it up.” Unkown
You ever have those days where it feels like you are failing at everything and nothing is going the way it should? I do. A lot more than I’d like to admit, especially lately. Building a business is hard… especially in the midst of a global pandemic. And some days, it would be all too easy to succumb to the difficulty of that journey.
But I’m reminded of all the difficult things I’ve done in life. Graduating college. Graduating grad school. Qualifying for Boston marathon. Moving to a new state. None of those things happened overnight. None of those things came effortlessly. Time, energy, prayer, and hard work went into each of those things. It’s the same with building a business.
Today I looked back at a blog post from about a year ago. You can check it out here if you’d like. It was about my growth as a photographer. Photos I had taken early on in my career, and photos that I had just recently taken. Side by side, the growth was undeniable. It was (and is) incredibly encouraging to see.
I wanted to remind myself (and anyone else reading this who may need it) that it’s ok to be discouraged. There will be days it would be easier to quit. But rarely is it better to quit. You were created for such a time as this. And now, patience is as important as ever. Take heart knowing that God’s timing is not our timing.
Life is all about growth. So is business. Growth can be a slow process at times. Painful. Difficult. But worth it. Always worth it. So hold on tight. Stay strong. Be fearless. Remain faithful to your calling. And watch as God does things you never imagined.
