Capturing joy is my favorite.
When Leslie reached out to me asking for photos of her daughter Ruby, I was super excited to begin planning and cultivating this session. We met at the Independence Square and then moved to the Bingham-Waggoner Estate, and it was a beautiful time with a beautiful family!
I had never been to the Bingham-Waggoner Estate prior to this, so getting to take photos in a new location was nerve-wracking and exciting all at once. The property and landscaping is beautiful, and made for some wonderful photos. But, although I love to explore new locations for photography, my favorite part about this session was watching everyone open up throughout our time together. Leslie, Justin, and Ruby started out the session pretty reserved, but as we got farther into the session and as they got more comfortable, their true colors began to show. Some goofiness, lots of laughter and genuine smiles, and plenty of beauty and love.
This is by far my favorite part of photography... capturing people as they are. Capturing personalities. Capturing joy and laughter. Capturing just a fraction of what God sees in us as His prized creation. Thank you, Leslie and Justin, for entrusting me with this session! It truly was a joy to serve you.
