Location, location, location
You’ve heard it before—and honestly, I’ve said it myself. Yes, location matters. We want your senior photos to reflect you, and the location you choose is a big piece of that puzzle. But the one thing that matters even more when it comes to creating beautiful senior photos?
Lighting.
And the very best lighting happens during golden hour.
Let’s back up for a moment for those of you who may be new here. Golden hour is the two hours before sunset, when the sun sits low in the sky and creates soft, warm, golden light. While every photographer has their own preferences, this is my absolute favorite time to shoot. That dreamy glow you see in so many of my images? It comes from the beautiful light just before the sun goes down.
My goal with every senior session is to create an environment that feels relaxed and effortless. When you feel comfortable, it shows in your photos. That’s when we capture images that feel timeless—photos that highlight your natural beauty and showcase your personality.
It’s hard to truly be yourself when you’re not relaxed.
And that’s why timing often matters even more than location.
Even the most incredible location can’t compete with beautiful light. But when we combine the right location with golden hour? That’s when the magic really happens.
