I've said it before and I'll say it again.
I LOVE photographing baptisms. One of my most favorite parts is watching and capturing the expressions as people come up out of the water and immediately after. Usually, it’s radiating joy, big smiles, and often times a clap or a hug before exiting the baptistery.
A few weeks ago was no different. We had the amazing blessing of baptizing FOUR awesome children. Each one has a unique story, each recognizing God’s sovereignty over their lives, and each participating in this public declaration of their commitment to Christ. I love seeing young people express such joy for and commitment to our Savior! That’s probably why I love youth ministry. Seeing the moment when something finally “clicks” in the minds of the next generation is just… a feeling that can’t be beat. It’s incredible. And when that thing is Jesus, it’s so absolutely amazing.
Three of our youngins were scheduled to be baptized that Sunday, and their stories are equally as incredible, but today I’d like to focus on the fourth. Makenna ran up to the changing area that Sunday morning recognizing that she wanted to be baptized. Her mom was so supportive and encouraging, and it was a beautiful sight to see someone literally run up the church aisle to go make this public proclamation of the work of Jesus in her life. Makenna has recently joined our youth ministry and it’s been so fun to get to know her. I can’t wait to see how God uses her, and the other three incredible kids, in His unfolding story here in Independence and at Three Trails. What a blessing it is to be able to be a witness to lives being changed by our Creator.
