Senior sessions are one of my favorite types of photo sessions for so many reasons. Seniors have so much ahead of them, so many things they are excited about and looking forward to. I guess that's the beauty of what I get to do; most people hire photographers to capture monumental moments and times in their lives. Senior sessions, engagement sessions, weddings, anniversary sessions, maternity sessions, newborn sessions, birthdays, and even family portraits - all of these mark milestones in our lives. And with each, there is incredible beauty and joy. But seniors are something special. There's something about that time in your life, when you are becoming more independent, learning more about yourself, making plans for your own future... it's a powerful thing. I remember my senior year and how ready I was to go off to college. There were many reasons for that, but I was excited to start fresh and learn who I was as an adult. I've always been fiercely independent, so that probably helped.

A couple weeks ago I had the incredible opportunity and blessing to shoot Bradyn's senior photos. His whole family came, and I even snapped a couple photos of all four of them. His relationship with them is so sweet and wonderful. He asked for his mom's opinion on things as we worked our way through the session and she was such an incredible support. I felt like I got a glimpse of the young man Bradyn is growing into. A little sneak peek, if you will. This kind, funny, full-of-life man who is going to do incredible things with his life. He seems strong, confident, and independent but simultaneously incredibly connected with his family and proud to be. Bradyn hasn't decided what he's doing next year yet, but I know whatever he does, he will do it well.
